Commitment to Safety
An intentional process
At Meaningful Connections, safety is built into everything we do, starting long before two people are introduced. Our intentional matchmaking process allows us to get to know each participant, and assess their readiness for a relationship. Every participant’s journey is unique. That’s why the pace of introductions is guided by their comfort and readiness, not a timeline. When appropriate, we offer relationship workshops, individualized coaching, and opportunities for caregiver or family involvement to help participants build skills and confidence before matchmaking begins.
Our focus is on supporting individuals in building healthy, respectful, and consensual relationships. While they are not therapeutic services, they provide practical guidance and education that empower participants and strengthen confidence. This helps to ensure safe relationships grounded in mutual respect.
Family members and caregivers
We envision a world where every adult, regardless of ability, has the opportunity and support to experience love, friendship, meaningful relationships, and a true sense of belonging. If you are a parent, sibling or caregiver of someone seeking connection, you are welcome here. We are always happy to talk. With the full consent of the participant, family and caregiver involvement is encouraged and supported throughout the process. This may look different for each person. It may be attending an intake meeting, helping review a bio, staying informed through shared communications, accompanying on a meetup or simply being available in the background. The level of involvement is always up to the participant. Their voice leads the way.
Data collection
The privacy of our members is also taken very seriously as a fundamental part of how we operate. Personal information, profiles and matches are held in strict confidence. At every stage of the process, nothing is shared without explicit consent. Before sharing a profile with a potential match, the member involved will always have an opportunity to decide. We collect only what is necessary, store it securely and never share it with third parties. You are in control of your information from the moment you join Meaningful Connections.
Hiring practices
The safety and wellbeing of our participants and their families is something we take seriously at every level. All team members undergo a thorough background and reference check before joining Meaningful Connections.
